I mean, i know that the whole sydney 2000 olympic games thing was a bit of a shambles. but at least we could sit back with some pseudo-okka beer (namely fourex) and say "she'll be right mate, the stadium isn't built yet but we can just do the running bit down at the paddicks...". Which leads me to incorporate the wonderful ABC's "The Games" television series into this blog, being just that- good old aussies taking the piss out of ourselves.
But are the greek doing that? Are they throwing olive branches up and eating dolmades and not giving a fuck? Perhaps it's a cultural thing. A cultural "quietness".
Here in Aus we love a good scandal. Take the cycling drug example. We play it until the record has stopped. But are they like that in Greece?
who knows. I looked at the papr the other day and apparentely the olympic games has started.
